Ore Stream is a technically demanding high water canyon, involving big abseils, high jumps and slides and swimming in strong currents.

The Ore Stream is an aquatic canyon with
some very serious water.  The big sister to Mill Creek, with more
challenging jumps, abseils and swimming.

The
access involves a very steep climb, where you abseil into the canyon
through the steep forest.  The access hike can take up to 2 hours,
requires good fitness and a good head for exposure to heights.

Ore
Stream is our most advanced trip it is strenuous, challenging and
technical. There are many abseils (rappels) up to 35m (100’) high. These
abseils are technical, requiring technique and confidence. Some go
straight through and behind the waterfalls. Jumps up to 8m (25’) and
more challenging scrambles and climbs through the canyon. The swimming
can be challenging at high water levels up to 10m (30’) long, though
turbulent pools.

Ore
Stream is the most difficult guided canyoning trip in the country.
After an approach that can take up to 2 hours, you’re usually in the
canyon for 5-7 hours. You’ll need a high level of fitness, good swimming
ability, a good head for heights, and be comfortable in turbulent
water. For this trip, we usually expect customers to have done some
canyoning, rock climbing using ropes, or abseiling before and prefer to
take folk who have been on prior trips.
